It was great to see lots of Juniors at the club XC at Bagworth Heath this morning, well done everyone!

Equinox24

Runners from HRC camped overnight at Belvoir Castle for the 24-hour Equinox24 challenge. Participants ran solo, in pairs, or as part of teams, aiming to complete as many laps as possible between 12 noon on Saturday and 12 noon on Sunday. This year, the weather added an extra layer of difficulty, but the team spirit remained strong throughout the event.

Perfect evening for a run up castle street 😆
Well done everyone.
And well done to our new club runners tonight, you smashed it 💪

Swithland 6

A mildy-chaotic-as-usual team photo from the Swithland 6 on Sunday. We’ve been treated to good weather for most of the LRRL league races so far! These local road races are inexpensive and open to all senior club members. Our thanks to Birstall Running Club for organising the race.

Tuesday training session

Tuesday training this week was in Queens Park. There were plenty of regular faces and we welcomed a couple of newbies who were coming along for the first time to try us out. Here is what the session was, to give a flavour of what our Tuesday “seniors” nights are like:

Session: “The Accelerator”

Session location and time: Queens Park (entrance by The Lawns) @ 6.30pm

What3words ref: ///booster.arose.evoked

Please arrive warmed up and ready to start the session. It’s light now, but you may need something visible for your run home!

If you’ve never done the accelerator, then you are in for a treat! The aim of this session is to try and use all of your running “gears”.

You will start at a 2/10 effort. Each time I blow the whistle, you will increase your speed to the next level, so 3/10, 4/10 etc. until you are sprinting. You will then come back to 1/10 effort (walking) and we will go again.

Don’t worry if you struggle with pacing it the first time round as you get to repeat this 3 times, so plenty of opportunities to practice!

Last few of the dark nights

Great turn out tonight despite a slightly blurry location map. Especially well done to those that did Ashby on Sunday and still trained tonight!

How could I not post this one? Cross country nutters at Grace Dieu 2024…

… and a great turn out from the HRC juniors as at this race.

Well done to you hard core lot who braved the cold tonight ðŸ¥¶
Lovely to see so many smiling faces considering ðŸ’™

HRC 💙 HHS parkrun

Looking back to last month when Hinckley members “took over” the volunteer roles and provided pacers at Hastings High School parkrun. Our storage container in the background contains all our Juniors athletics equipment as well as signs, poles and other paraphenalia for our cross country races. It’s also used by the parkrun team to store kit used every Saturday morning.

Bagworth & Derby

Club XC at Bagworth Heath today… it was so, so wet and muddy. Fantastic running from everyone in tough conditions.

Jenny

One picture from today’s Derby 10 mile. We did it 💪💪🎉

Autumn nights…
