Thursday Routes – 13 Jun

I thought about posting a Winter route looking at the forecast!! But we’ve got a Summer route that sticks to the roads rather than venturing across the common or along the canal towpaths!

Long: 8.6 miles
Short: 6.3 miles
Maybe waterproofs and wellies will be needed!!
Hope to see you there…6.20pm meet for a 6.30pm departure from Hinckley Leisure Centre (meet outside if it is fine, or inside by the reception desk if it is wet!)

Thursday Routes – 6 Jun

Thursday routes:

Long route: 9 miles
Short route: 6.8 miles
The weather forecast is (currently) for a dry day tomorrow so I thought we would try running one of our canal tow path routes for a change

6.20pm meet outside the leisure centre for a 6.30pm prompt departure

See you there ?

Thursday Routes – 30 May

Thursday Routes:
Ref S18
Long: 9.3 miles
Short: 6.4 miles
Heading out to Stapleton and Dadlington this week.
6.20pm meet for a 6.30pm prompt departure from HLC
See you there ?

Thursday Routes – 23 May

Road Run Option:

Lots to choose from this week…Nick has posted a ‘trail’ route but for those who prefer a slightly longer and predominantly road route:
Ref S24
8.7 miles but you can add more if you wish on the return through Burbage to Hinckley.
See you there ?

Trail Run Option:

I will be doing an off-road run taking in some of Burbage Common and the footpaths beyond. The distance will be approx. 6.5 miles, most of which on trails (some gravel, some grass, some packed earth).
All are welcome to join me. I expect to average about 9 to 10 min/mile, and we will stop and regroup regularly so no-one left behind. The aim is to enjoy and explore our local countryside and not worry about pace.
Road shoes or trails shoes will be fine as the ground should be quite firm. (But don’t expect them to stay clean..)
I deliberately haven’t posted a route map – you will have to follow me ? .

Both options meet as usual Leisure Centre, 6.20pm for 6.30pm departure.

Thursday Routes – 16 May

Route: S14

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, our club are offering a ‘run and revise’ session for our local students. For this reason the route is ‘close to home’ and the short / long routes follow the same route.
…this means that if any students (wanting a shorter route) join us for a revision break, they can turn left up Ashby Rd back to the leisure centre making it about 3 miles. the rest of us will continue on the route.
For the longer route, you will do two (or three!) laps of the ‘big wood’ (1.1 miles per lap) and then continue with the route as shown back the the leisure centre.
This should be a good social run for us all.., and give us chance to run together.
I hope that you will be able to join us to support this cause and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow – 6.20-pm meet for a 6.30pm departure from the Leisure Centre.

Thursday Routes – 9 May

Thursday Routes:
Ref S17
Long: 9.4 miles
Short : 6.2 miles
The short route cuts across the common for a short distance but despite today’s rain, it’s still firm underfoot.
6:20pm meet for 6:30pm departure from HLC
See you there 🙂

Thursday Routes – 2 May

Long 8.7 miles
Short 7.2 miles
Hopefully better weather than the last time we ran across the Common to Aston Flamville!
For those wanting a longer route, there are opportunities to add a couple of miles on by turning left at Lidl (Westfield Rd), following Strathmore Rd to Coventry Rd then heading back to the leisure centre
Usual 6.20pm meet (outside the leisure centre by the benches at the front of the building) for a 6.30pm departure.
See you there ?

Thursday Routes – 25 Apr

Long: 8.8 miles
Short: 6.7 miles
Usual 6.20pm meet for 6.30pm departure from Hinckley Leisure Centre (we will meet outside by the benches if the weather is dry, otherwise, in the normal place downstairs).

Thursday Routes – 18 Apr

Long 8.5 miles
Short 6.2 miles
Hopefully something for everyone with pre / post marathon legs!
6.20pm meet for 6.30pm departure from Hinckley Leisure Centre.
See you there ?

Thursday routes – April 4th

Thursday routes:

Yay…the first of the Summer routes…we should just be able to make it around the Aston Flamville loop before it starts to go dark – may be a good idea to still ‘dress to be seen’ particularly if you are doing the longer route.

Short: 7.2 miles
Long: 8.8 miles

Usual 6.20pm meet for 6.30pm prompt departure.

See you there

Thursday Routes – 28 Mar

Long route 9 miles
Short route 6.5 miles

After this weekend when the clocks ‘go forward’ we will be able to start thinking about heading out into the countryside 🙂
Meet as usual at the Leisure Centre 6.20pm for a 6.30pm departure.
See you there ?

This is our monthly paced run. Pace groups will be 8:30/mi long, 9:00/mi long, 9:30-10:00/mi short.
