A big thank you to Craig Johnson and all at Runner Photos for stepping in at the last minute to provide you with race photographs. These are now online for you to view and purchase at:

just pop in your race number and your pictures will appear before your eyes!

Car Park – we’re sorry that a number of you were caught up in delays getting out of the car park after the event.  Car Parking is always an issue for us and with all this adverse torrential weather, most of the ground inside the Water Park was water logged and we were unable to use.  A late decision was therefore taken to put all cars in the outside car park.  Cars have to exit onto a main road, single file, which again did not help the situation.  In hindsight, we should have used more manpower, but we can only apologise for the delays on leaving.  It is something that we will be looking at in our race de-briefing.

A big thank you too to all the marshalls, supporters, helpers and runners – far too many to name each one, but thank you all.

Linda

100 days to go – come along and try out HRC

With 100 days to go until the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games, HRC is getting ready by giving people the chance to get involved at a Try Athletics event.

The Club is an official England Athletics affiliated one and is hosting the event on Tuesday 17th April from 6.15pm at its new home, Ashby Road Sports Club.  Adults and children of all ages and abilities are welcome to go along and try a taster session.

Alex Copeland, national club development officer for England Athletics, said “Clubs such as HRC give people a great opportunity to get involved in the sport.  People may not go on to be involved in the Olympic or Paralympic Games but the excitement and enjoyment they can get is every bit as great”.

Welcome to Ashby Road!

Welcome to  our new home at Ashby Road Sports Club – and to the new website!

Training tonight was followed by celebratory cake at our new home – many thanks to Ros Clayton for this, was enjoyed very much by everyone!

We’ve moved!

Welcome to the new HRC website! It’s not just our site that’s new though – our home has moved, to Ashby Road Sports Ground.

All training sessions will now start from Ashby Road (Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.15). There’s ample parking, as well as changing and toilet facilities.

To celebrate our move, we’ll be having cake this week!
