A huge shout out to our members who took part in yesterday’s West End 8 – including our very own Chloe Sparrow who took the title of first female. 🥇Chloe was among 26 of the club members to take on the race and a speedy chip time of 49 mins and 40 seconds, saw her take the title of first female at the race and 50th place overall out of more than 450 runners! And there was success for other members of the club too with PBs while for some members of the club, the event saw them complete their first league race.A huge well done to everyone!!
I just wanted to give a shout-out for the amazing runs our juniors had at parkrun this morning! At Hastings, Oliver C and Katherine left me for dust, both running sub-22 mins, there was a new PB for Matthew, a run pretty close to a PB for Josh, a 25th parkrun milestone for Oliver R (and his mum), and a first parkrun for Safiya (which was much faster than the first parkrun I ever ran)! And over at Braunstone, Maggie ran a fabulous new PB too!And these are just the ones I know about – there may have been more of you out there too!Huge congratulations, you’re all incredible!
Well done juniors for last night, some fantastic running. A picture of our squad and helpers and a picture of our athlete of the day trophies which I picked up today, but who will win one of these? Thank you to our junior helpers / captains / chaperones last night and for the first time that I can remember we had 5 coaches at quadkids.

Hinckley Running Club was nominated for “Club of the Year” in the England Athletics East Midlands Regional Volunteer Awards. We made this video to showcase the club as part of the nomination.
Pulling together as a club with creativity and innovation has kept Hinckley Running Club members engaged and training during lockdown. As well as setting up daily and weekly challenges, such as Strava art, the club found ways for members to keep in touch using social media, not just sharing run times, but also jokes, pet photos, race stories and more, to make sure the everyday aspect of life kept going despite the unusual events going on elsewhere.
This determination to carry on running didn’t stop once restrictions started easing. The club invented a socially distance version of parkrun, published weekly speed sessions on social media, and set up street sign scavenger hunts. Alongside this, accurately measured routes of various distances were created so members could set their standard times for the year. Last but not least, the Club President provided a socially distanced trophy delivery service to all winners at the club’s annual prize giving.
Please include in the form a few words about your running year — highlights, lowlights or stories — and also attach to the email your favourite running related photo of yourself from this year. This is for the yearbook (see the past yearbooks on the Award Winners page).
The deadline for applications is Midnight on Sunday, 2nd January 2021. Early entries encouraged.
For full information, times, and rules see the Standard Times page.
Looking forward to receiving your applications. If you don’t get a reply to your email within 7 days, please contact Nick Moore in case it was not received.
We are continuing to put on two separate coached training sessions each Tuesday at 6.30pm. These are free for members and booking on to the sessions is done through the club’s Facebook group for members.
We have also now resumed our Thursday night social runs for members only. The routes and pace groups are coordinated in advance using the members’ Facebook group.
The Tuesday sessions in particular are recommended as the starting point for beginners and new members.
All sessions remain currently for members only.
Joining the club this month costs £25, for a “14 month for price of 12” membership which lasts until end of December 2022 – see join the club to join simply by sending in an application form and payment. New member applications are welcome.
