League positions

LRRL league after Joy Cann 5 – one more race to go in the summer league!

The less good news first… Mens’ teams have suffered a little bit this season. We seem to yo-yo between division 1 and division 2, so after being promoted last season it did seem like relegation would be quite likely this season. Unfortunately the vet men’s team are already set to be relegated, but let’s put in a great final performance, and come back fighting next season, ready to win division 2! The men could POSSIBLY stay in division 1 with a truly heroic performance at John Fraser 10 – it’s Wigston Phoenix and Roadhoggs that you need to aim to beat!

The very good news – ladies are already confirmed champions of division 2, after winning all but two of the races so far. Ladies B are currently two points clear at the top of division 3, which is amazing – let’s keep it up and have two champion ladies teams! Vet ladies are comfortable in division 1, assured of safety next season after consistently amazing performances all year.

The next and final league race of the season is John Fraser 10 mile on Sunday 7th September. Entry and information can be found here:

Well done to everyone who ran for the club on Sunday, at Hermitage 10k. The heat certainly didn’t make the hills any easier! Well done to the runners of the day, Gordon and Jenny.

Top of the league!

Well done to all HRC runners who turned out on Sunday, a great team turnout and some fantastic individual results, with Emma finishing 2nd lady in her first race since last October, and Chris and Kate finishing 6th man and lady respectively.

Ladies – we’re still top of the league! Undefeated in Division 2 after three races, let’s keep it up. Ladies B team are 4th in Division 3, C team are 17th; vet ladies are 6th in Division 1.

The men’s team are currently 7th in Division 1, with the men’s vet team 5th in Division 1.

Some great individual placings too after the first three races:

Kate Perkins: 3rd senior lady
Chris Limmer: 3rd senior man
Sarah McSharry: 5th senior lady
Gill McGarry: 2nd V45 lady
Odette Foxall: 6th V40 lady

Well done to everyone who turned out to represent the club at this morning’s race at Foremark Reservoir, the first cross country of the season. With 22 juniors and 28 (??) adults, there were certainly a lot of blue and white vests about!

Let’s try for at least as many runners at the next cross country – 17th November at Markfield.
