28 senior club members and 21 juniors ran in the first Derby Runner Cross Country League fixture at Bagworth Heath on 22nd October, with several members doing their first race with the club.
RESULTS Derby Runner XC League – Race 1 – Bagworth Heath – 22nd October 2017
Seniors Results – Team Tables – Juniors Results
The ladies team did particularly well finishing 2nd out of 25 teams, the men came a respectable 11th (7th in div 1) and combined team 9th (6th in div 1). I am also told the cakes Jenny and Kirsty brought were very good, and that our new hot drink facility provided welcome fortification against the high winds.

We have raised a query about the league tables as Hinckley ladies team are showing in division two despite winning the division last season. (Edit: Confirmed Edit 2: final tables now updated above) We also understand the juniors results may currently be incomplete due to some problems with duplicated/missing numbers.
The next XC league race is at Prestwold Hall on Sun 12th November – details to follow when available.
Added the LRRL 2018 race dates to Races 2017/18 page and the Calendar.
Also added a site map and a new page on the site where you can look down memory lane at results going back to 2007.
Friday’s Halloween pub run was a big success with more than 40 from both the club and the All Sorts coming out to frighten the town across 4 miles and 5 pubs in some fantastic costumes. Here are a few of the photos from the night.

Rebecca will be doing another conditioning/injury prevention session on Tuesday November 7th – this will be in the downstairs room of the Leisure Centre after the usual training session. It should start about 7:45 pm and will focus on hips and knees and the muscles in between, with some drills too. Please bring your foam roller if you have one – this can be stored in the lockers (£1 operated) during training.
I have started a weekly newsletter – the idea is to have a short roundup of brief news for the club.
