Car Share for Bagworth XC
For Sunday’s race we will be meeting for car share at the old Leisure Centre car park (Trinity Vicarage Road) from 9:15am, leaving at 9:30am. (Please note this is OLD Leisure Centre, the one which is now demolished — we still like use the car park cos’ it’s handy and this car park is free on Sundays.)
Seniors race start is at 11am and the price is £3 – please bring cash.
Also, thanks to Céline we will have hot water supply via a couple of big thermos flasks so bring a mug if you fancy a post race cuppa.
Halloween Pub Run

We will be having a Halloween pub run on Friday 27th October. This night is all about dressing up, having fun, drinking and a bit of running in between. The plan is to meet up at the car park behind the White bear pub at 6.45 to start the run at 7pm From there we go on to the Railway, The Woolly, The Plough, The Queens Head and then on to The White Bear to finish This is only a 4 mile run with max 1 mile between each pub (so probably a little more drinking than running)
Below are some approx times of when we should be at each pub, hopefully giving us all enough time to run between each pub and plenty of time to order and down a much needed refreshment at each establishment. If you can’t make it for the full night than anyone is welcome to meet us along the route
1st – The Railway pub – Arrive 7.15pm – Depart 7.45pm
2nd – The Woolly – Arrive 8.00pm – Depart 8.30pm
3rd – The Plough -Arrive 8.45pm – Depart 9.15pm
4th – The Queens Head – Arrive 9.30pm – Depart 10.00pm
5th – The White Bear – Arrive 10.15pm – Till Late
See map:

We have done this in the past and its been a great fun social night out so it would be great to see as many of you dressed in your scariest out fits joining us.
Note – Fancy dress isn’t compulsory but its more fun if you do:) Please also note this isn’t a official club training night so you are in charge of your own safely so please stay in groups, stay safe and if you find yourself being chased by zombies RUN!!

Update to the Standard Times Awards page
I have just updated the Standard Times page on the website to clarify the rules ahead of the next round of certificate applications. Please note especially the “Which races are eligible?” section at the bottom and take a look and make sure the races you are planning to use are eligible for awards, while you still have some time left to find another race!
Also remember that the rules were changed earlier in the year to allow 6, 7 and 8 mile distances all together.
As part of the update, I’ve merged the separate men’s and womens’ pages into one page so as to have everything consistent and in one place.
You will be able to apply for your 2017 award starting from November – look out for another announcement then.
Derby Runner XC – Race 1 Information
Here is the information from Desford Striders about the upcoming cross country race at Bagworth Heath on Sunday 22nd October 2017:
XC Race 1 Bagworth details_2017 (click to view PDF)
Please note especially the requirement about car sharing — minimum 3 to a car. As usual we will be organising a car share from Hinckley for this race, so look out for more info nearer the time here or on the members’ Facebook group. Edit: Car Share Info Here
It would be great to see lots of members taking part in the XC this season. Remember it’s only 3 quid (and 1 quid for juniors) and it’s a lot of fun! All members are welcome and encouraged to take part, it doesn’t matter how slow you think you are or if you haven’t done one before! You will need some trail shoes because it is likely to be very muddy. A HRC vest will also be needed and these are available for £15 – contact Penny Masser. I (Nick) am also happy to take vest orders and pass them to Penny.
There is no need to book a place in these races – they are “turn up on the day” and open to all members of league clubs. England Athletics affiliation is NOT needed to race in Derby Runner league.
As a reminder, here are all the Derby Runner XC dates for the coming season:
22 Oct 2017 Bagworth Heath (organised by Desford Striders)
12 Nov 2017 Markfield (West End Runners)
26 Nov 2017 Holly Hayes Woods (Hermitage Harriers)
10 Dec 2017 Bradgate Park (Roadhoggs)
21 Jan 2018 Allestree Park (Derwent RC)
18 Feb 2018 Grace Dieu Manor School (Shepshed RC)
11 Mar 2018 Bosworth Battlefield (Hinckley RC)
Also on Saturday 6th Jan will be the Leics County XC Champs. This was held in Burbage Common for the last two years, but in 2018 will be in Rotherby. More info when we get it.
And to brighten up this post here’s our seniors team from last year’s Bagworth race:

LRRL Results 2017
The final results have been announced for the LRRL 2017 season, which concluded on Saturday 3rd September with the John Fraser 10 race.
In the individual awards, Chris Langham has earned the award of 3rd Vet 45 (and 18th place in the league overall) after an outstanding season of racing.

In all, 50 members of HRC took part in the summer league’s 7 races: West End 8, Gaddesby 7, Swithland 6, Hungarton 7, Joy Cann 5, Hermitage Carl Rutt 10k and John Fraser 10.
Three Hinckley runners completed the “100%” of representing the club in all 11 of the Winter and Summer league races and these were Chris Langham, Liz Aspden-Mansfield and Kate Perkins – what a commitment.
I have excerpted the league tables for Hinckley members below, and elsewhere on this website you can find full results for every race and you can find the full league tables on the LRAN site.
In the club league side of things, both the Mens and Ladies team have finished 8th out of the 10 in their leagues, only just avoiding the bottom two which would have meant relegation. So I am pleased to say both will still be in Div 1 next year! Despite strong running the lower turnouts for some races meant our teams did not do as well this year as last.
Our thanks to the organisers of the league and all the clubs and volunteers putting on the races. Congratulations to all the winners and to Matt Adcock and Jo Male who were the overall champions of the league this year.

West End 8 Report

26 Hinckley runners ran the West End 8 on Sunday 7th May – the first race of the LRRL summer league. It’s a scenic 8 mile road race on the country lanes near Syston, “undulating” at first, with a tough hill in the middle and a nice downhill finish.
A massive turnout from the ladies, with 19 running. It was Hinckley ladies’ best result of the 2017 season so far, coming 4th in the division. The men’s team was a bit short on numbers, with just 7 men racing this one, and we were 7th in our division behind all the teams with the full eight men (but still ahead of Coritanians who had zero men…)
Now the ladies are up to joint 6th in div 1, and the men have dropped a place to 5th in div 1. Still 6 races to go.
The full HRC roll of honour was: Chris Limmer – 47:03, Chris Langham – 48:36, Nick Moore – 53:39, Harry Langham – 54:59, Bethan Padbury – 58:36, Kate Perkins – 59:00, Celine Guery – 59:36, Leanne Byard – 01:00:36, Greg Pollard – 01:02:42, William Pither – 01:02:52, Penny Masser – 01:03:27, Jenny Green – 01:04:11, Richard Guest – 01:08:20, Kerry Wittering – 01:10:35, Nicola Dutton – 01:11:57, Emma Thompson – 01:13:35, Elizabeth Aspden-Mansfield – 01:16:40, Jodie Brown – 01:16:58, Julie Hudson – 01:17:14, Andrea Earley – 01:19:33, Diane Wildbur – 01:21:40, Odette Foxall – 01:22:23, Sarah McSharry – 01:22:54, Judy McSharry – 01:22:51, Erica Fisher – 01:23:25, Stephanie Harris – 01:26:58
Well done to all the runners and welcome to league racing to Jodie Brown running her first race in Hinckley colours. Runners of the day: Jude McSharry, who finished the race together with daughter Sarah, and Greg Pollard who ran a cracking race (and just beating Will Pither at the finish, a possible rivalry developing…)
Thanks to West End Runners for putting on the race. Next LRRL races are Gaddesby 7 (21st May) and Swithland 6 (4th June) which are both now closed for entries. Then the Hungarton 7 on 5th July which has just opened for entries.
